Modern Jasmine Inspiration in Southeast Asia

As an artist, I’m constantly looking for ways to create meaningful content that pushes myself artistically and creatively while bringing inspiration to others - and this editorial was another attempt to do just that. This shoot represents my appreciation for this region of the world, translated into wedding aesthetic and my time thus far living here.

My appreciation for Southeast Asia began through food as a small child - growing up eating the best Bò 7 món at the local Vietnamese restaurant every week, and frequenting some of the best Thai cuisine San Diego had to offer. Fast forward to when I got married. We chose Thailand over Europe for our honeymoon because we found our hearts drawn to it, and years afterwards we found ourselves traveling throughout Myanmar and Indonesia, with an eventual move to Singapore.

I’ve been living in Southeast Asia for a little over 2 years now and have found myself really enjoying exploring new cultures, witnessing varying aesthetics, and seeing how people in this region treat everyday objects like flowers and textures in a completely different light. In this shoot I wanted to highlight that uniqueness. This shoot was a reflection of my appreciation of the visual and tactile experiences I’ve been lucky enough to experience in this region. I just want to say thank you to an incredible team for making this vision a reality.

As seen on Hochzeits Guide.
